We have been very blessed this past week. Some of the worst flooding in Georgia occurred very close to our home, however we didn't get any water in our house! Dan and I weren't actually home for the rains (we were in the Bahamas), but my mom and the boys said it was incredible the amount of rain that fell on Sunday and Monday. We came home to no running water and road closures everywhere. The boys were out of school this whole week because of contaminated water and washed out roads. The roads are still a disaster! Highway 5, which runs by our house, is the only main street into town so it is packed with traffic. Dan and Alex are out with the ward today helping to clean out houses that were flooded. We walked over to a small area that washed out around the corner from our house and took some pictures. This was very small compared to the damage to most roads around here, as I'm sure you've all seen on the news.
The road was closed for a few days because they weren't sure if it was going to collapse.

What is more exciting than flood damage?... A dead smashed snake with maggots!!

We are so glad you guys are safe and that you didn't have any damage to your home! After watching the news, it seemed as if the whole state was under water. Crazy! We miss you guys!
We are also glad that you are all safe. Water is so powerful. It is hard to imagine the power it must have had to do all that damage. Boys and gross stuff. Yep, that's how they are. I remember Dan and spitting........
